Losing weight and living healthy isn’t easy. The hardest part is just getting started. With so many people struggling with their weight and health, it can be hard to stay motivated. It’s not always easy to know where to start or how to get the ball rolling. But here are some tips and tricks on how you can live a healthier lifestyle and lose weight for good!
I’m going to share my journey with you as I embark on this crazy life change that I hope will help me reach my goals. I’ll give you weekly updates on how I feel, what I’m eating, and other helpful tips as we go along. Let’s do this!
Why I want to live a healthy lifestyle
I’ve been struggling with my weight for a long time. I’m not overweight, but I could be a lot healthier if I made some changes. My health has been deteriorating and it’s affecting everything in my life – physically, mentally, and emotionally.
My doctor told me that my cholesterol was dangerously high and that if I don’t make some changes now, I might have to start taking medication soon. That scared me enough to make the change.
How I am going about this change
I have just started my weight loss journey, so I can’t say that I have any tricks for you just yet. But here are some things that I plan to do this week to start getting healthier.
1. I’m going to strive for 30-60 minutes of exercise every day.
2. Eat a well-balanced diet all week, with lots of veggies and lean protein.
3. Stay away from processed food as much as possible!
First week of my journey
This week, I did a lot of soul searching. I had to figure out what was important to me and why I wanted to make this change. One of the most important aspects to me is self-love and self-confidence. And in order to achieve that, I needed to be in my best shape and know that I’m setting myself up for success in future endeavors.
So, this week, I focused on cutting out dairy products from my diet because it was one of the main culprits behind weight gain. It’s also been shown that dairy can contribute to inflammation in your body which can lead to more serious problems like arthritis or even cancer! It definitely wasn’t easy, but by the end of the week, I felt so much better about myself knowing that my body is going through a healing process instead of just masking symptoms with medication.
Second week of my journey
So here’s the update for this past week!
On the first day, I got on a scale and found out that I’m five pounds lighter than last month. That was really motivating, so I spent the rest of the week trying to find fun ways to lose weight. I went on walks with my family and had more veggies and less carbs.
For my workout, I did some laps in my pool and tried some new exercises like jumping jacks and wall squats. It was harder than it looked!
I thought about what motivates me to work out, and it turns out that seeing results is really important to me. After weighing myself on Monday, seeing my family more often was a major motivator to go on walks with them instead of sitting around all day. So it’s been more social and active this past week!
Third week of my journey
Third week of my journey and I’m still going strong! It hasn’t been easy but it has been worth it. I’ve had a few slip ups in the past few weeks, and unfortunately one was in an ice cream place. I feel like every time I’m tempted in a place like that, I just need to remind myself how good it feels to be healthy.
I go running on Sundays and I love it; it’s such a great way to clear my mind and spend some time alone with myself. My favorite food lately has been cucumber sandwiches-yum! And for dessert, oranges or strawberries are perfect.
The best thing about losing weight is all the new clothes you get to buy! I can’t wait to go shopping for new jeans–I’m sure they’ll be tight at first!
Conclusion
The best thing I can do for myself is to take care of my mind, body and soul. Now it’s my turn to show myself some love.
